As the EU mandatory recycling target, of 50% by 2020, draws closer, compactors and balers play a large part in reaching these figures, not only for local authorities but industry as well. As waste can be reduced by a significant ratio of its original volume, depending on the material being compacted.
Compactors are designed to reduce the size and volume of different types of waste or recyclable materials. The more ‘air space’ in the waste stream, the greater the compaction benefits, optimising the waste area, and reducing the number of bins and collections by 80%, a compaction ratio of up to 10:1 has a significant impact on waste costs by reducing the number of waste containers and frequency of hauls. When you use a compactor, you can reduce your waste volume be effectively squashing it thus making it more compact. Which means you will require less storage on site.
Perfect for large volumes of waste. These bins are situated on site.
We offer a bin press and a bag compactor. The 1100 litre bin press will crush down black bin bags, decreasing bag volumes by 3:1. On collection day businesses often find themselves paying to have bins emptied which aren’t even full, this is essentially paying for fresh air.
The bag compactors will press down general and food waste inside a metal drum, which is covered in a bin bag. When full, the bag can be tied and placed in a bin, this machine reduces volumes 10:1.
Static compactors come in two parts the compactor unit and the bin container – the container is taken away and serviced and brought back to site leaving the compactor unit firmly in place
The benefits of Static Compactors
Mobile compactors come in one complete compactor unit and the combined compactor unit and bin is taken away and serviced and brought back to site.
