My name is Charlotte, I have worked for Agecko just short of 4 years. Each and every member of the “A” Team are so special to me, we are like a little family. This was even more prevalent in December 2019 when my special best friend, Roxanne, tragically lost her beautiful identical twins, Jakob James and Andrew Dexter. This was through no fault of theirs or hers, they just graced us far too early. My Agecko family supported me through this and continue to do so…
Rather than dwelling on the negatives, my incredibly brave, strong friend has set a goal to run and walk a total of 100 miles from 19th November to 19th December in memory of her boys. This started as a personal goal but quickly escalated when friends and family wanted to show their support.
The goal is now at 1,500 miles either walking/running or cycling, over the course of the month. I believe we can do even more than that. I have set myself a personal target of running 50 miles but hoping to do more for this special cause, so close to my heart.
Roxanne’s main objective is to raise awareness around the ‘taboo’ subject of parents losing children and still births. This is something that happens every single day but until you are personally affected by this devastation, it is not something people know how to approach.
Martins House Hospice in Wetherby have been supporting Roxanne through this extremely difficult time. We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for to enable them to continue their work with as many families as possible going through such unimaginable grief and trauma.
We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for Martins House but as we are raising awareness of the stigma around stillbirths, we will be donating a proportion to SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity). We will also be creating Roxanne, her family and friends something to remember both Jakob and Andrew by.
If you would like to donate, please follow the link below;
We will be over the moon with any donations at all, because every little counts.
I will continue to update you on our progress through this journey and the money that is raised, wish us luck, we might need it, especially on the looming cold mornings…
